In this picture I'm the one with the easiest job. Click on the picture to see another picture of me. (I'm the one without the nose ring in the other picture)

Hobbies:

My hobbies include sports, movies, cars and travelling. I have written a few sentences about these hobbies and I also have included some links down here. In my Finnish version of this homepage I have lots more links but from the English version I have removed most of the Finnish language links.

Sports:

I try to do different kinds of sports. When I was younger I used to play soccer in my hometown's own team Pyhäjärven Pohti. When I was a student I played a game called floorball which is quite popular here in Finland. Lately I've concentrated mostly on mountain biking and hiking.

I bought my first proper mountain bike in 1999 and at the moment I'm a proud owner of a handmade German mountain bike frame called Rotwild. All the parts of my bike have been selected separately and that makes my bike unique. My hiking trips take place mostly during my holiday trips abroad but I do also hiking trips in Finland.

Human pyramid by Woltti

Woltti is a traditional Finnish men's gymnastics group from my hometown Pyhäjärvi. You can't really call this hobby a sport mainly we try to have fun and collect money for trips. We have had fun and travelled extensively for over ten years now, even though none of us lives in our hometown at the moment. The Woltti homepage is only in Finnish, but the link is here because it includes some interesting pictures.

MC Kramppi, this is our mountain bike team which is based in Lahti.

NBA, homepage of the National Basketball Association.

Movies:

Movies have been my hobby for a long time and I think that movies should be seen in a real movie theatre.

, the Internet Movie Database has an amazingly extensive collection of movie information.

All-Movie Guide, not as extensive as the IMDb but altogether it still is very nice source of information for the movie freaks.

Cars:

I have been interested in cars for as long as I remember. I'm not interested in fixing or repairing cars instead I'm interested in exotic cars, driving, motor sport and car industry. Currently I drive a Alfa Romeo 147 GTA. Before that I owned a Fiat barchetta Limited Edition 1999. I sold the barchetta in March 2006.

Alfa 147 GTA

My GTA somewhere in Germany.

After I sold my barchetta I bought another Italian car from the same company since now I own an Alfa Romeo 147 GTA. It is a pretty rare sight here in Finland since most likely my car is only second 147 GTA in Finland.

My Alfa 147 GTA pages contains more information on my car.

Fiat Barchetta:

My barchetta in summer 2004.

The taxation of imported used cars in Finland changed during autumn 2002. That gave me an opportunity to acquire a car that I had wanted for a long time - a Fiat barchetta. Only three barchettas had been registered in Finland between 1995-2002 and that made buying a barchetta from Finland very difficult. In the aftermath of tax changes I had already bought ferry tickets between Finland and Germany so that I could import the car from Germany. In the end I bought my barchetta from the Finnish Fiat importer which imported two barchettas to Finland during spring 2003. I sold my barchetta in March 2006.

My barchetta-pages, I have collected some barchetta information, links and pictures to my own barchetta pages.

Carmakers etc.

Ferrari, official pages of Ferrari. There is lots of information about past and present Ferraris, including pictures and technical data. At the moment I don't own one...

Porsche, official pages. Information about current Porsche models. I don't own a Porsche...yet.

Lamborghini, this brand is currently owned by Audi.

Motor sport:

Autosport, English motor sport magazine. Very interesting stories from the world of F1 and rallying etc.

FIA, official pages of the top organization of motor sport.

WRC, official World Rally Car pages. These pages contain for example almost real-time stage timings and latest rally news.

Travelling:

Travelling is nice and it broadens horizon. I have travelled several times with Woltti-group (for example to Florida), toured around Europe by car and I have also travelled around the world. I did the round the world trip with my friend Mika Isotalo during the first part of 1997. We were on the road for about 4 months - which is far too short time. Latest major trips that I have done were a four weeks trip to Tanzania, Kenya and London in summer 2000 and one-month trip to Nepal in 2001. In the future I plan to keep on travelling as much as possible.

Round the World-picture archive, I have written quite a long travel story from our round the world trip. Unfortunately it's only in Finnish. At the moment there is no English version, but I have collected some pictures in the picture archive. You'll find the archive by clicking the link above. During our trip we went to USA, Peru, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia/Bali and Singapore.

Tanzania, Kenya and London picture archive, During that trip I went to a safari and did a six days trek to the peak of Africa's highest mountain Kilimanjaro (5895 m). The travel story is only in Finnish, but you can find the pictures in the picture archive.

Nepal 2001 picture archive, This is my latest long trip. I was in Nepal for one month in november/december 2001. During that time I did the Annapurna Circuit trek which took 16 days. The picture archive can be found here.

, Lonely planet makes worlds best guidebooks and their web site is also quite good. Lots of information for budget minded travellers.
